More than a Century of Superior Couplings
The Dodge coupling product line can offer a solution for almost any issue. Whether it’s for an elastomeric or metallic design, Dodge can provide the right coupling with the potential to increase torque capacity, accommodate shaft misalignment, extend life, and eliminate downtime. Their couplings are one of the many reasons Dodge has earned a reputation for developing the industry’s most innovative products and providing unmatched value to their customers.
Product Offerings
Elastomeric Couplings– Dodge elastomeric couplings are available in innovative designs including the Raptor (split-tire), and popular styles such as the Para-Flex (tire), D-Flex (sleeve), and StarFlex (jaw). Their vast line delivers coupling solutions for virtually any application such as pumps, compressors, fans, and more.
Metallic Couplings– Dodge metallic couplings are available in flexible designs such as Grid, Gear, and Chain, as well as rigid designs such as Taper-Lock Rigid, Ribbed Rigid, and Moment couplings. Their extensive line offers solutions across the torque spectrum, from pumping applications to packaging with Dodge enclosed gearing for high-torque conveying applications.
Mechanical Soft Starts– Dodge fluid couplings are generally used in remote location conveyor drive applications in the mining, aggregate, cement, and power generation industries– in applications in which controls and drives are difficult to power, program, and maintain.
Dodge D-Flex Coupling
The Dodge D-flex coupling features molded, non-lubricated, interchangeable elastomeric sleeves of EPDM, Neoprene, or Hytrel. Its four-way flexing action accommodates axial, angular, and parallel misalignment, as well as torsional wind-up. Also, D-flex has a torque capacity up to 72,480 in-lbs. and horsepower range up to 2,000 HP at 1800 RPM.
D-flex couplings feature greater holding force, and rounded element edges for improved fit and longer service life. Generally speaking, D-flex couplings are marketed to the pump industry, though that does not rule out their use in various other applications. They are recommended for use in applications under 50HP. Also, D-flex couplings are manufactured with three different material types, each with their own benefits.
EPDM: General Purpose Element and most common element. Temperature range of –30° to 275°F. 15° wind up
Neoprene: Used in Chemically Hostile environments Temperature range of 0° to +200°F. 15° wind up
Hytrel: 4X the torque capacity of EPDM and Neoprene, this allows customers to downsize Temperature range of -65° to 250°F. 7° wind up.
